Sharpening by mail, from anywhere

Not near Cookeville? Ship your knives to us. We sharpen them by hand and send them back within 3 business days of arrival, with tracking.

How it works

1. Order online. Add your sharpening services from the Services page, plus one return shipping option below. Add return insurance if your knives are valuable.

2. Get our shipping address. After you order, we email you where to send your knives.

3. Pack and ship. Follow the packing steps below and send your knives with tracking.

4. We sharpen and ship back. We photograph each knife on arrival, sharpen it, and ship it back within 3 business days, with tracking.

Return shipping

Choose one per order:

• Small Order: $15. 1 to 2 folding knives or small knives, such as paring knives. Add Small Order shipping

• Standard Order: $28. 3 or more knives, fixed blades, chef's knives, and long kitchen knives. Add Standard Order shipping

Insurance for valuable knives

Return shipping includes $100 of USPS coverage. For more, add return insurance at $1 per $100 of value. For example, $2,000 of knives is $20.

• Over $500 in value: return insurance is required, and we ship back with signature confirmation.

• On the way to us: please insure your package when you ship it. That leg is your responsibility.

How to pack your knives

1. Cover each blade with a sheath, blade guard, or folded cardboard, and tape it shut.

2. Wrap each knife in bubble wrap or a towel.

3. Use a sturdy box with padding on all sides so nothing moves.

4. Include a note with your name, phone number, and order number.

5. Ship with tracking and keep your receipt.

What we can't accept by mail

• Switchblades and automatic or auto-open knives (USPS restrictions)

• Loose or unprotected blades
